About the Sodium Chloride (NaCl) - Rock Salt
Sodium chloride crystallizes in a face-centered cubic arrangement where each sodium ion is octahedrally coordinated by six chloride ions and vice versa. This structure is adopted by many alkali halides including KBr, KCl, and LiF.
